  The filesystems that support aon are unstable. The CAEN storage engineer will be working on them in the coming days.

• CAC Service Degradation: Nyx: Preemption Unavailable – October 13, 17:11

  Preemption is currently unavailable on nyx. A solution should be available in the next few months. Please contact us at cac-support@umich.edu for alternatives.

Planned & Announcements

• CAC Scheduled Maintenance: nyx and bighouse – December 27, 15:00
  
  

  nyx and bighouse will be unavailable starting at 3pm on Sunday December 27, 2009. We plan to return them to service by the end of the day on Thursday, December 31, 2009.

  During this time, several things will be happening:

  • the CAEN networking group is upgrading the firmware on switches that support the CAC systems; improving connectivity between machine rooms; and simplifying the networks supporting nyx
  • the CAEN storage group is upgrading the software on the storage system that supports nyx and bighouse home directories
  • the CAC staff is applying OS updates to nyx and replacing some hardware that supports /nobackup

  aon will be unavailable starting at 3am on Monday December 28, 2009. We plan to return it to service by mid-day on Wednesday, December 30, 2009. During this time, the CAEN networking group is upgrading the firmware on switches that support the CAC systems and simplifying the networking that supports the CAC systems.
