Academics
As part of the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan, The Center for Advanced Computing offers masters and doctoral degree programs in scientific computing, in cooperation with the student's home department. The CAC was created in response to the increased emphasis on scientific computation in nearly all applications areas, and is intended to foster and encourage research and instructional activities in scientific computation at the University of Michigan. The CAC facility includes workspace for students, staff, and faculty, several high performance supercomputers and workstations for graphics and visualization. High speed network connections allow convenient access to the University of Michigan network, and access, via NSFnet, to the NSF supercomputer centers at NPACI and NCSA.
The most up-to-date information on the academic program is available at the Rackham Graduate School's page on Scientific Computing.
There are a few relevant courses taught at the University of Michigan; for more information on those, please see our Courses page.
